"...that the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ,
the Father of glory,
may
give to you the spirit of wisdom
and
REVELATION in the knowledge of Him,
the
eyes of your understanding being enlightened;"
Ephesians
1:17-18
The word "revelation" is perhaps the
most important Word in the Bible. Our knowledge of God and our
relationship to him does not come from our intellect. It comes from
revelation.
"He said to them, 'But who do you say that I
am?'
Simon Peter answered and said,
'You
are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'
Jesus
answered and said to him,
'Blessed
are you, Simon Bar-Jonah,
for flesh
and blood has not REVEALED this to you,
but
my Father who is in heaven.'"
Matthew
16:15-17
Peter had walked with Jesus for more than
three years, yet it wasn't what he witnessed that led to his
confession. Many saw the works Jesus did but were not all saved.
Jesus said Peter was blessed because the knowledge of who Christ is
came to him by revelation.
Who do YOU say that he is?
If
you don't really know, if you have any doubt, then ASK God to reveal
this to you.
When praying for loved ones, pray that God
REVEAL himself to them. It can ONLY come by
revelation.
People can read the Bible from Genesis through The
Book of Revelation and get nothing out of it. They'll say it's a
historical book. If that's you, ASK for revelation, it's
the only way it comes.
