But It Sounds So Good!

"For Satan himself transforms himself
into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers
also transform themselves
into ministers of righteousness,

whose end will be according to their works."
2 Corinthians 11:14-15

It is imperative that we get to KNOW the "wiles of the devil."
(Eph 6:11)

Satan does not come to you with a banner saying, "here I come, I am Satan coming to destroy you." Of course not. He "transforms himself into an angel of light," not of darkness. He makes himself and what he says believable and alluring - but deceiving. If you think you can't be deceived, you've already believed one of his lies.

Above all, he knows you. He knows your makeup. And he creates a plan for your destruction accordingly. He knows what will bring you down. And he makes what will bring you down incredibly appealing to you.

People have a very incorrect idea of who this being is - everything from a caricature with a pitchfork to a cherub who flits about tempting folks.

No, Satan was created the most beautiful of the angelic hosts, full of wisdom and understanding. When he fell, he did not lose his understanding. When he sets out to destroy a person, he has a plan FITTED to that individual to bring him/her down. Do not underestimate him.

How can we protect ourselves from the "wiles," the deceits, of Satan. There's only one way. We have to know the Word of God. Note that when Satan tempted Jesus, Jesus answered him with "it is written...." Jesus used the Word of God.

There isn't ANY other way.

Get to KNOW the Word of God, it is the weapon God has provided, to be neglected to our own peril.
