"Then Jesus said to those Jews who
believed him,
'If you abide in my Word, you
are my disciples indeed.
And you
shall know the truth, and the truth
shall make you free.'"
John
8:31-32
And the converse is also true: if one does NOT
abide in him, he will NOT know the truth.
HOW does one come to
know the truth?
Believers who read God's Word daily will tell
you that the Lord never stops revealing truth. You can read the Bible
for 40 years, and you'll still come across revelation that you had
never "seen" before, because God continually reveals his truths
as you continue in his Word. It is forever new.
The opposite
is also true. A person who does not continuously feed in the Word of
God will NOT know the truth. These are those who will fall for false
doctrines that SOUND GOOD.
There are many preaching false
doctrines today and even Christians are falling for them because
those men are preaching what people want to hear - how they can be
healthy, wealthy and happy. They deceive many because they insert
Scriptures, which of course makes them SOUND legitimate.
These con-men never preach on sin, repentance, hell, or the cross we
are to pick up daily. Their followers only want to hear what is
"uplifting."
"For the time will come when
they
will not endure sound doctrine,
but
according to their own desires,
because they have itching
ears,
they will heap up for
themselves teachers;
and they will
turn their ears
AWAY FROM THE TRUTH,
and
be turned aside to fables."

Timothy 4:3-4
David Wilkerson, a great man of God,
passionately addressed this. This is short, but it can change the way
you view the Gospel.
