At Any Cost

November 25

"For we spent enough of our past lifetime

in doing the will of the Gentiles,
when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness,
revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.
In regard to these, they think it strange
that you do not run with them
in the same flood of dissipation,
speaking evil of you."
1 Peter 4:3-4

When one is born again, he is so changed inside that he loses interest in the things that previously made up his life, and it's quite remarkable to experience this. To those he used to go with, they cannot understand. They are not ABLE to understand the changes in him. So they speak evil of him.

If one approaches Christ and desires to be born again he must know first that there will be a price to pay, this experience is going to radically change him. He may suffer the loss of friends, sometimes even family, because he has entered into a whole new and different kind of life. Only he who wants God with all his heart need ask to be born again.

On a yardstick, the life we live here is the first 1/16 inch. The rest is the life we will live in eternity. The wise will understand this and be willing to suffer whatever he must in order to apprehend that for which he was created.

He will rejoice for all eternity that he made the right choice.
