"For the time will come when they
will
not endure sound doctrine,
but according to their own
desires,
because they have itching ears,
they will heap up for
themselves teachers,
and they will turn their ears away from the
truth,
and be turned aside to fables."
2 Timothy
4:2-4
...they will not endure sound doctrine.
Until
this generation, Christian doctrine remained pretty much solid and
reliable.
Not so in this generation. In fact, the word
"evangelical" can no longer be used to define believers in
the truth of the Word of God, because false teachers have taken over
that term.
A hallmark of Satan is that he loves to use
well-known words and twist their meaning. Many of those calling
themselves "evangelicals" today seek to "redefine
Christianity." They are bringing new teachings to the church,
teachings leading people to "New Age" practices such as
deep-breathing contemplative prayer, yoga, chants, walking the
labyrinth, channeling, Reiki, and teaching heresies such as
universalism (everyone gets saved) and that we are all gods.
They
use Scripture ...to deceive.
Ask anyone in the "emergent
church movement" about the Lord Jesus Christ and the reason he
came - and prepare yourself to hear soft and warm and "loving"
words clearly presenting "another Christ."
You won't
hear about SIN.
You won't hear about HELL.
You won't
hear about God's chastening of his people.
You won't hear
about the Cross.
But they WILL cleverly use Scripture ...to
support their heretical positions.
"Every word of God is
pure;
he is a shield to those who put their trust in him.
Do
not add to his words,
lest he rebuke you, and you be found a
liar."
Proverbs 30:5-6
"For I am the Lord, I
do not change;"
Malachi 3:6
It's a very dangerous time.
Anyone who doesn't know the Word of God will be easy prey.
