They Make The People Trust In A Lie

November 19

"Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet,

'Hear now, Hananiah, the Lord has not sent you,
but you make this people trust in a lie.'"
Jeremiah 28:15

...to trust in a lie …

Hananiah was prophesying that God was going to break the yoke of the king of Babylon and bring back the captives as well as all the gold and silver that he took from the Temple.

They were pleasing words. It was what they wanted to hear. But ...it was a lie.

When you see a "mega-church," suspect that the message being preached there is what the people want to hear. People flock to where they are told how they can become healthy, wealthy, and how they can achieve all they aspire to. These teachers twist the Scriptures to make them give a message the Scriptures didn't intend, because the message of the Gospel is that when we are born again we must take up our
CROSS and follow Jesus.

Almost all the apostles of the Lord ended up in martyrdom. I'd like to ask the "wealth and prosperity" teachers why the apostles didn't name and claim their deliverance from that martyrdom.

Paul himself said, "Erastus stayed in Corinth,
but Trophimus I have left in Miletus
SICK."
(2 Timothy 4:20)

...He left him SICK??? Why didn't he "claim" his healing instead of leaving him sick? And why did Paul himself spend so much time in prison if he could have "proclaimed" his release?

If you attend a church that teaches that you can be healthy, wealthy and prosperous and does not teach about sin, the need for repentance, or about the necessity of taking up our cross, RUN from that church.

Truly as Jeremiah said:

'Hear now, Hananiah, the Lord has not sent you,
but you make this people trust in a lie.'
