There's No Peace In The Darkness

March 30

"And this is the condemnation,
that the light has come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light,
because their deeds were evil.
For everyone practicing evil hates the light
and does not come to the light,
lest his deeds should be exposed."
John 3:19-20

Those who ignore the Word of God dwell in darkness. The Word of God pierces the heart and sheds light on the evil within man, and because of that, many reject the Word because they can't stand it exposing their sin. They cling to their sin and want nothing to do with the light that exposes it. They choose to remain in darkness.

Some will finally come to the conclusion that they just can't stay there, the darkness is too dark. Those who surrender to the Word of God find salvation, wherein is hope.

"Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble,

and he saved them out of their distresses.
He brought them out of darkness
and the shadow of death,

and broke their chains in pieces."
Psalm 107:13-14

The battle rages in man to maintain self-will. He will accept nearly anything rather than surrender his will. The pride of man is the most difficult thing in life to let go of. He can not, he WILL NOT allow the light to expose his sin. Instead he will continuously find ways to justify his sin.

If only they knew how surrender brings peace. The barrier to peace is sin, the barrier to peace is self-will. But should a man be brought so low that he has no way out, and should that man choose surrender, then the darkness lifts because the light banishes it. The light will break the chains in pieces and he will find peace.

Come into the light ...and find peace.
