"'Come now, and let us reason together,'
says
the Lord;
'Though your sins are like
scarlet,
they shall be as white as
snow;
though they are red like
crimson,
they shall be as
wool.'"
Isaiah 1:18
Is
there any sin too wicked to be forgiven?
No. The issue
isn't the degree of sin. As sinners we all sin and therefore are ALL
condemned. Some sin more greatly than others, but all sin breaks the law of God. The law of God is like a glass, once it's broken, the
whole thing is broken. Sin breaks the law of God, and renders us
unable to enter heaven.
"For whoever shall keep the whole
law,
and yet stumble in one point,
he is guilty of all."
James
2:10
But the mercy of God endures forever. He is the Father
watching for the prodigal to come home. Watching, waiting, he says,
"Though your sins be scarlet, they shall be white as snow."
He is waiting for you.
"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for
he is good;
for his mercy endures
forever."
Psalm 136:1
If
this is reaching the heart of someone who has much sin, you've
probably realized that your sins did not make you happy. Rebellion
against your Creator will never produce happiness. If you are willing
to turn your life over to him, he will forgive you and never again
hold your sin against you. You can have a new life, and you can find
peace in Christ. Come to him and ask him to become the Lord of your
life.
"If you
are willing and obedient,
you shall
eat the good of the land;
but if you
refuse and rebel,
you shall be
devoured..."
Isaiah 1:19-20
Come now! Do not put it off any longer.
