"...that you may be filled
with
the knowledge of his will
in all
wisdom and spiritual understanding..."
Colossians
1:9
How is one filled with the knowledge of God's will? How is
one filled with wisdom and understanding?
If ever you come
across a believer who IS filled with the knowledge of God's will, who
IS filled with wisdom and understanding, know that he has sought
after it. It doesn't come naturally.
"But the natural man
does not receive
the things of the Spirit of God,
for
they are foolishness to him,
nor can he know them,
because
they are spiritually discerned."
1
Corinthians 2:14
The natural mind is not ABLE to receive the
things of the Spirit of God. He cannot, because the things of God are
spiritually discerned. Until a person is born again he is not ABLE to
receive the truths of God.
So why then, do you go to
counselors who have not God's Spirit nor his wisdom? The greatest
counselor on earth will steer you wrong because only God can give the
correct guidance for you life. He alone understands you to the core.
He alone holds the issues of your life. He created you, he chained
together your unique DNA. Chase after a man or woman who you think
can guide you if you must, but know that the guidance will only be
the opinions of a man. Go to a different counselor and you'll likely
get a different answer.
Finding wisdom requires the born-again
person to spend time pursuing it. Think of the effort you put into
those things that are most important to you. You don't tire of it,
you relentlessly go after it. If you desire wisdom you must seek
after it relentlessly by spending TIME with God, and by immersing
yourself in his Word daily. There is no other way.
