How To Be Effective In Winning The Lost

October 10

"The effective, fervent prayer
of a righteous man avails much."
James 5:16

One of the most important things a believer can do in life is to intercede for the lost, the hopeless, those helplessly bound, the ones in rebellion, pride, and self-will. No amount of preaching at them will succeed, in fact in most cases it will turn them off. STOP that! Instead, ask the Lord to help you pray the "effective, fervent prayer" which alone can move the heart. And keep praying. Don't ever give up.

"And let us not grow weary while doing good,
for in due season we shall reap
IF we do not lose heart."
Galatians 6:9

Always remember:

Nagging is powerful to turn the heart off.
Prayer is powerful to turn a heart around.

A HUGE difference! It makes all the difference in the world.

vs 19-20
"Brethren, if anyone among you
wanders from the truth,
and someone turns him back,
let him know that he who turns a sinner
from the error of his way
will save a soul from death
and cover a multitude of sins."

How?

By the effective fervent prayer of a righteous person.

And don't be afraid because you don't feel "righteous" enough. We come before the Throne of God in the righteousness of Christ, not in our own righteousness. And we pray in his name, not in our own. That's the secret. It really isn't a secret, but many don't realize the power in praying in the righteousness of Christ.
