"John came baptizing in the wilderness
and
preaching a baptism of repentance
for
the remission of sins."
Mark
1:4
Repentance must always go before the born-again
experience. But even repentance is a gift. It's a gift that changes
everything. When a person truly repents, it's like a two-ton boulder
is removed from his shoulders.
ASK
God to lead you into repentance. Ask
him for the GIFT of repentance. It leads to the loosening of the
chains. It's the way to peace.
"...in humility correcting
those who are in opposition,
if God
perhaps will GRANT THEM REPENTANCE,
so
that they may know the truth,
and
that they may come to their senses
and
escape the snare of the devil,
having
been taken captive by him to do his will."
2
Timothy 2:25-26
Until a person experiences repentance he
cannot know the relief that results. Ask God for help in repentance
and let him lead you into the joy of deliverance and healing. Sin
just isn't worth it.
"Sometimes this Cross gets so
heavy,
but each day I take it up
again;
cause I know its weight is so
much lighter
than the chains that
kept me bound in sin."

from "This Cross," by Del Way
