The Philosophies Of The World Are Dangerously Deceptive

"Beware lest anyone spoil you
through philosophy and empty deceit,
according to the tradition of men,
according to the basic principles of the world,
and not according to Christ."
Colossians 2:8

We so easily put our trust in the "experts," but if they are not in Christ they have nothing to offer but "philosophy and empty deceit" gained from the world system. Sometimes it may be hard to accept that the experts we trust are deceived, but those born again will oftentimes be able to discern it if they pay close attention.

For believers it is crucial to remember that the world and the things of the world are at enmity against the things of God, the things of truth. Don't be deceived by the "experts." Put all of your trust in Christ who IS the Truth.

"For the wisdom of this world
is FOOLISHNESS with God. For it is written,
'He catches the wise in their own craftiness;'
and again, 'The Lord knows the thoughts
of the wise, that they are FUTILE.'
THEREFORE LET NO ONE BOAST IN MEN."
1 Corinthians 3:19-21

"The thoughts of the wise …"

This is worth truly meditating upon. Ask God to REVEAL it to you. Ask him to reveal to you where you've been deceived by people who look like experts, but are not. Ask him to show you where you've put your trust in the philosophies of the world, of our culture, rather than in him.
