The Many Lost – The Few Saved

"But even if our gospel is veiled,
it is veiled to those who are perishing,
whose minds the god of this age has blinded,
who do not believe,
lest the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ,
who is the image of God, should shine on them."
2 Corinthians 4:3-4

When you care so much for people's salvation, it's hard and extremely painful to realize that the many will NOT be saved. Their minds have been blinded by “the god of this world.” Hell actually has to expand its gates to accommodate the multitudes coming in.

"Therefore Sheol has enlarged itself

and opened its mouth beyond measure;
their glory and their multitude and their pomp,
and he who is jubilant, shall descend into it."
Isaiah 5:14

The MANY, the FEW:

"Enter by the narrow gate;

for wide is the gate and broad is the way
that leads to destruction,
and there are MANY who go in by it.
Because narrow is the gate
and difficult is the way which leads to life,

and there are FEW who find it."
Matthew 7:13-14

When the Scripture says the way is narrow – it’s not referring to the perfection needed to enter – if that were the case, no one would be able to enter because we are all sinners. The way is called narrow because there is ONLY ONE WAY – and that is through faith in Jesus Christ. The reason there is only one way rests in understanding exactly what Jesus accomplished when he bore our sins on the Cross of Calvary. There is no one else who provided the atonement for sin. There is no salvation outside of Christ.

Jesus said:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6
