"But
brother goes to law against brother,
and that before
unbelievers!
Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for
you
that you go to law against one another.
Why do you not
rather ACCEPT WRONG?
Why do you not rather let yourselves be
cheated?"
1 Corinthians 6:6-7
Sometimes the Scripture
will test our faith to the limit. It's hard to imagine anyone in this
litigious society having the depth of faith and commitment to Christ
and his Word to actually forego going to court against another
believer when he's been wronged. But Scripture advises us to accept
wrong; to let oneself be cheated. What a manifest demonstration of
the Spirit of God within, in anyone who has that depth of faith and
commitment.
"But whoever slaps you on your right
cheek,
turn the other to him also.
If anyone wants to sue you
and take away your tunic,
let him have your cloak also.
And
whoever compels you to go one mile,
go with him two."
Matthew
5:39-41
The believer must always remember that there is no
loss in obedience. Whatever one forfeits because of following Christ,
will be more than made up to him. Every act of obedience will reap a
huge reward.
“'Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
and
naked shall I return there.
The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken
away;
Blessed be the name of the Lord.'
In all this Job did
not sin nor charge God with wrong."
Job 1:21-22
Job
lost EVERYTHING. But at the end of the story God supplied him with
double of all that he lost.
Pray and ask for the grace and
depth of faith which will enable you to do as Christ would do, and
you truly will be greatly rewarded. There is no loss in obedience.
