Why Do They Refuse To Retain God In Their Knowledge?

"And even as they did not like
to retain God in their knowledge,
GOD GAVE THEM OVER to a debased mind,
to do those things which are not fitting;"
Romans 1:28

People who choose a life of sin - OF COURSE they do not like to retain God in their knowledge. Before Adam sinned, he walked with God. But after he sinned he HID from God.

"And this is the condemnation,
that the light has come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light,
because their deeds were evil.
For everyone practicing evil hates the light
and does not come to the light,
lest his deeds should be exposed."
John 3:19-20

We are born into a fallen world, and the Scriptures tell us that Satan is the "god of this world" (2 Corinthians 4:4.) Anyone who is not born again is subject to the god of this world. Jesus said that Satan comes "to steal, to kill, and to destroy." If your joy has been stolen, if you feel dead inside, if your life has been destroyed - if you've been living under the "god of this world," turn instead to Jesus Christ. He said:

"The thief does not come except to steal,
and to kill, and to destroy.
I have come that they may have LIFE,
and that they may have it
MORE ABUNDANTLY."
John 10:10

If you've been running away from God, don't continue on the path that leads to destruction. Repentance brings a wave of relief and peace to the battered soul. Come to him. He is the source of peace and he is the source of ...abundant life. If you come with a willing heart, he will receive you and he will fix you, and lead you into "life more abundant."
