"It shall come to pass in the day the Lord
gives you rest from your sorrow,
and
from your fear and the hard bondage
in
which you were made to serve,
that
you will take up this proverb
against
the king of Babylon, and say:
'How
the oppressor has ceased,
the golden
city ceased!
The Lord has broken the
staff of the wicked,
the scepter of
the rulers;'"
Isaiah
14:3-5
There is an end date on the agendas of the wicked. They
are allowed a period of time in which they bring sorrow to the people
of God. But it will come to an end. Then deliverance will come for
God's people, but terrible judgment will come upon the wicked who
lived in power and pride on the earth:
There will actually be
a sick kind of joy in hell when these pompous tyrants step into
eternity:
vs 9:
“Hell from
beneath is excited about you
to meet
you at your coming;
it stirs up the
dead for you,
all the chief ones of
the earth;"
When a wicked person enters hell, there he is
humiliated before all:
vs 10-11:
"They
all shall speak and say to you:
‘Have
you also become as weak as we?
Have
you become like us?
Your pomp is
brought down to Sheol…"
On earth they had power to kill
and destroy, to bring all manner of sorrow, but when the great men of
the earth enter hell, they will find they are no longer great. There
they will be like all, humiliated in their pomp. Forever.
When
Jesus's disciples came to him rejoicing that even the demons were
subject to them in his name, Jesus answered:
"Nevertheless
do not rejoice in this,
that the
spirits are subject to you,
but
rather rejoice because
your names
are written in heaven.”
Luke
10:20
Their names won't be there. Ensure that yours won't be.
