Lawlessness

January 20

"Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness,
and sin is lawlessness."
1 John 3:4

Sin is lawlessness...

This is a generation that has thrown off all restraints, there's never been a generation like this since the founding of our country. Laws are actually passed protecting lawlessness.

"The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his Anointed,
saying, 'Let us break their bonds in pieces
and cast away their cords from us.'”
Psalm 2:2-3

You want to kill a child? Laws are passed so that you're breaking the law if you don't tolerate the deeds of those who do. You want to declare that God did not create the universe and everything in it? You'll get fired if you're a teacher who even suggests that the theory of evolution is wrong, and that God created the world. And God forbid that a pastor preach from the pulpit that homosexuality is sin. He can lose his tax-exempt status, and some have even been put in prison for it.

Life in society today is lawlessness.
Except for the laws that legislate lawlessness.

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
Isaiah 5:20

The day will come when those who stood on the side of evil will face an eternity without the God they rejected.

"Therefore Hell has enlarged itself
and opened its mouth beyond measure.
Their glory and their multitude and their pomp,
and he who is jubilant, shall descend into it."
Isaiah 5:14

Eternity is a long time to live in regret.
